Dales Railcard
If you live in postcode areas bounding the Settle-Carlisle line, between Skipton and Carnforth or between Carlisle and Brampton, you can purchase a Dales Railcard, which will enable you to receive discounts on the price of tickets to travel on the line.

Using the Dales Railcard
Where can I use it?
You can use a Dales Railcard to save money on single, day return and saver return tickets. Travel validity is between all stations shown on the map (below), (plus Brampton and Wetheral on the Tyne Valley line) with the restrictions that it cannot be used exclusively within the Leeds/Bradfor Skipton area on exclusively between Carnforth, Lancaster, Bare Lane and Morecambe.
How long is the Railcard valid?
Dales Railcards are valid for twelve months from the date of issue or commencement date.
You can apply up to one month in advance for a renewal Dales Railcard

How much can I save?
You cave 1/3rd on the cost of single, day return and saver tickets between valid stations.
What about Children?
Up to four children (ages 5 to 15 inclusive) can travel with a railcard holder and the child fare is based on an 81% discount on the adult fare. There is a minimum child fare of £1
Are there any other Benefits?
Dales Railcard holders will be able to take advantage of the annual winter offer, where for a very low set fare passengers can travel the whole route. Occasionally other special offers are also made available to Dales Railcard Holders.

- Skipton and Carlisle (on the Leeds-Settle-Appleby)
- Skipton and Carnforth (on the Leeds-Morecambe line)
- Carlisle and Brampton (on the Tyne Valley Carlisle-Newcastle line)
... And your postcode must be included in one of the following...
- CA 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17
- DL 8, 11, 12
- LA 2, 5, 6, 10
- BD 23, 24
